Had mad funzzz yesterday night at Ben & Eunice's housewarming! I miss uni times :( Not sure why it was fun - guess it was just a cool get-together, alcohol-free with Domino's pizza and munchies munchies munchies, plus two cats running around crazyyyy D: There was Nintendo Wiiiiii then CRANIUM haha! The things you learn...like LYCANTHROPY. And humming "I'm too sexy." And people not knowing Bitter Sweet Symphony. And MODEL - *moves Sonal's hand on hips, Connie guesses straightaway* - huge LOL times and then realising we had to be quiet 'cos next-door neighbours are scary. And how-could-you-not-put-Maccas-as-a-fast-food??? Plus dog walker and hot water bottle. Also Anna Kournikova and hook, line and sinker. Then sought to learn how to play this random card game, "BANG!". Lasted 2 mins in the first game, then got ganged up and killed off by the two outlaws 'cos I was Sheriff, and realised too late I unknowingly killed my vice-Sheriff!! Hilarioussss. Topped off by driving back 2 girls and a cat having very deep and meaningfuls, telling me I'm a "serious" type and discussing the future :P Naww I love you physiosss

In other news, SARAHWONGY is back in Melbourne-town and hence, my life can RESUME AGAIN please! GOLD COAST IN 10HRS or so!

Chapter 1: " Sometimes, despite your best efforts otherwise, life gives you lemons. When that happens, you've got two choices, friend. You can wear a sour face or make lemonade.."

Chapter 2: " Happiness is a state of mind and, like all things, it takes practice. Devote five minutes a day to smiling, just smiling, and after a while it'll come naturally."

Chapter 15: "During your travels, it's important to always keep one thing in mind. When one thing ends, something else begins."

Just finished watching Love Happens. Actually really liked it. And really like the quotes from it too :p I want to make lemonade :)

One week has flown by already - but it was a pretty awesome week :D What with Max Brenner times, Toys 'R' Us and Myer TV watching, Pendulum, OT/ML, getting my old bike out and cycling, BENDITLIKEBECKHAM revisited aka:
Look, this little pump comes free with it. Pop it in the valve, pump away, up it goes, then slip it back in there.....and boom! Cleavage! They're perfect while you're still growing 'cause they lift you right there.
Sometimes these English girls have such short hair...You just can't tell.
Jess, you're not going to tell anyone?
'Course not. It's OK, Tony. I mean, it's OK with me.
The Special Relationship in EUROP(A) oh-so-intimate touching times followed by 'Killers' and Ashton Kutcher-body, yummy Gelare 1/2 price WAFFLES, after-6pm-free-parking, Yum Cha besides two very loud men talking about VCE, ABBAWORLD incl singing with the crew, face on Waterloo album, $10 merchandise, Korean dinner, more cycling, typing Musculoskeletal Clinical Science 2 and Paediatrics Clinical Science notes, getting up at 6 and watching US PGA on the U50VG, realising it was kind of a waste of time and should have slept in, ferried Miffy outdoors, made gnocchi with the Mum, watched Rainman and good Brukner & Khan times.
So all-in-all been enjoyable (Y) Though there are times I feel dead lazy and feel like I should be on placement :p Then I think no I do want holidays :p and go on Eurotrip.com and start fantasising :P

Circles

I'm bored so I'm going to type up something boring called the locus of control. I remember in Health class in year 7 or 8 or 9 we had a piece of paper and there were circles. And circles within circles. The first one was the innermost circle and we had to draw or cut & paste drawings in it. It was meant to represent the things that were held closest to us e.g. family, best friends, lovers, and the things we could control in our lives. The next circle was to include things that were still close, but not as close e.g. friends, pets? etc and things that we can't necessarily change or have any control over. This year I've tried to keep the concept in mind - why worry, stress and lose sleep over things that you don't have control over? e.g. about people's opinions of you, your abilities, how you present. It's just not worth the energy. Instead I've been trying to focus on what I CAN do and worry only about the things within my reach. It doesn't mean I'm not looking into the future or planning ahead, just that I'm probably more aware of things I should let go and not let concern me, especially when it's so ahead of time. So having a good night's sleep is a little easier knowing that tomorrow is a new day - and I'll deal with it when it comes.

Holidays

Can't believe it actually is over! I'm pretty stoked. Finally setting in that I have a bit of freedom and as everyone is saying, I've really gotta enjoy it while it lasts :) So after finished with Belmore, I happily walked home in drizzle - it felt like something had lifted off my shoulders. Drove into city for dinner then awesome ice skating! Was basically by myself for the 3.5 hrs or so 'cos was struggling to actually skate hahaha whilst everyone was racking up the laps around the ring! It was a good time though with good music in the background (aka sexual healing :p )

Then had epic hoon date with a certain someone. Involved private-time-apparently-rape scene, talking in car for two hours, genuine, non-Indonesian tim tams, I-AM-TOUCHING-HER-ALL-OVER, toot-tooting, Adam Lambert gayness, PUX (like PUCK you miss) and having the freeway all to ourselves :) Perfect way to start these holidays :D

The day that finally came

So I'm typing this realising that tomorrow is my final day of paediatrics, perhaps forever or perhaps not. I can't believe my four weeks have gone by just like *that* - seriously! The overwhelming feeling I have now is a sense of satisfaction and pride. Just four weeks ago, I felt like I was back to square one - I felt there were unfair expectations of me and I felt lonely and socially awkward. Though I may still be socially awkward at times, I feel slightly more capable now when presented with a writhing, frothing-at-the-mouth, cerebral palsy kid. I feel a bit more assured and confident of my abilities to handle disabled children. And I appreciate just how hard it is for teachers, for parents and for therapists to look after these children. They really do deserve a pat on the back. I'm grateful that I have had this opportunity - these kids have it bad, but they're young, they're innocent and they'll try their hardest (though some are just damn lazy). So whenever YOU think you have it tough, just think again.

Happy Birthday Mum :)
