Hi Everyone,

This is just a quick email to let you know that the fleecy IELTS vests that I ordered for invigilators and cloak room staff have arrived.

New staff will not have received my first email advising everyone that we were ordering vests for staff to wear on test day. For the new staff, I ordered extra vests when I placed the order so there will be a vest for you too.

The vests will be available for collection from Carrie and Heather at this weekend’s test. If you are not working on Saturday, we have put your vest aside and you can collect it from Carrie and Sarah at the next test that you work. Please ensure you arrive a few minutes earlier than usual to allow time to collect your vest.

I would like all staff to be wearing their vests from this weekend so please ensure that you dress appropriately so you can fit the vest over whatever you are wearing. Just a reminder though that even with the introduction of the vests, staff should still dress professionally. Clothing such as jeans, t-shirts, tracksuits, singlets and runners are not appropriate.

Each member of staff will be given one vest and it will be your responsibility to keep it laundered and in good condition. The vests cannot be dry cleaned but they are machine washable.

Once it becomes too hot for the vests to be worn, I am happy for staff to revert back to their usual neat casual dress. However, I would like the vests to be worn as much as possible.

To ensure the vests do not become worn too early, I would like to ask that staff not wear their vest other than at work. IELTS Australia does not like staff to publically advertise that they work for IELTS (in case conflicts of interest arise) so if you can limit your wearing of the vests to when you are working only, I would appreciate it.

Given that these vests have been purchased by Deakin, if you cease employment at the centre, you will be required to return the vest to us.

If you have any queries, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Looking forward to seeing everyone in their new attire. I think they are going to look great!

So stay tuned for camwhore episode in Deakin toilets again :P Excited, much?

JULY

Saturday 31st - IELTS Work 1-5pm

AUGUST

Sunday 1st - Mum's birthday
Wednesday 4th - Paediatric Case/Topic Presentation
Thursday 5th - LAST DAY OF PAEDIATRICS (for my WHOLE life pls) // Start of 6-week holiday thanks
Friday 20th - Ethics essay due
Saturday 21st - Mary Poppins, Speedos vs Redheads
Saturday 28th - Tuesday 31st - GC at Q1?

And the things to do in 6-wk break: start studying for end-of-UNI exams, renew passport, get a debit card, do more cooking/baking (macarons), work at IELTS, spend more quality time with the MIFF, annotated bibliography assignment, get a bit active, ABBAWORLD (you know you want to) with Mummy Ng, more EUROTRIP2011 planning, REDBALLOON TIMES, and roadtrip/s.
My break is only two weeks away and I am DYING for it. Being going non-stop basically from Feb and perhaps am just about to run out of gas. I don't know how I'm going to live with just 4 wks annual leave for the rest of my life :P EIGHT days of Paeds left so am wanting to just finish strong and get the hell out of the hydro pool and not stink of Cl for days. This year is going f a s t.

A very HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Catherine Cheah on reaching the age of twenty-two. Nice surpassing 21?! I hope we will eventually watch a ODI cricket match, rugby event, another NM vs COLL game and keep bumping into each other on the 201/302, not confusing you with your physio sistuh and more Benjamin Button dates. Heeheee. :)

Dr. White

I just came back from my first orthodontist appointment in about 12 months. Seeing Dr. White again, he said sarcastically he nearly forgot how I looked. I said I was thinking the same thing. We talked about my last year of physio and how that was going, facing the real world next year and applying for jobs. It just got me wondering that this guy has seen me in my pre-teen years to now, a nearly qualified PT. It's a nice kind-of therapist-patient relationship :) And in the years I've seen him, his business has grown from a small little office on Riversdale to a modern, shared-with-periodontist waiting room employing others to work for him and his company. He has done well...very well. He said my next appointment is in another 12 months so yeah I do look forward to seeing him again, despite the waiting time in the room is actually longer than the consultation period :) . But time flies, doesn't it?.

More importantly...

To travel or not to travel? Europe 2011! I don't know whether it's a mad decision to take 3 months off and that one month to go travelling, then to come back jobless and hunting for a job, not guaranteed. I don't know whether I should do the stop standard, graduate and look for a full-time job straightaway, work for a few years then take time off to travel. Sigh. Trying to weigh up the options. I am dying to go overseas though. Earlier, the better? I've already looked up flights and accommodation!!

My new bestie

Falls Creek

Friday: Wake up at 7. Dead tired as night before did group work at uni till 10pm after clinic for 7.5 hours - ARGH! Expect to be picked up at 0730hrs - end up having to wait 45 mins and didn't really have a clue where they were. Get picked up by aunty to wait at my cousin's house. Shortly after, cousin & gf arrive. We're off. Stopover at Brown Brothers for lunch - bit early at 1130hrs and kitchen only opens at 12pm. Head off to free wine tasting. Just sip some wine and thinking it's a wee early for alcohol on a Friday AM, but do it anyway. Moscato is yummeh. Sit down for lunch. Order a trout salad - pricy but comes with more wine. Trout salad is AMAZING until I come across a little dead mosquito at the bottom of the pile. Notify waitress. She apologises and offers either complementary wine or dessert. Of course, I pick dessert - a chocolate plate. But guess what? It comes with another lot of wine. We end up leaving the table with about six half-full wine glasses! Another two hours and we're at Ray's Ski Hire where we get the chains and I end up spending $59 on OTG goggles. Bit annoyed I splurged that much, but then realise it's Japanese branded so somewhat OK about it. After the windy road up the top, I realise we didn't even need to use the chains. Road wasn't even that snowy. Either way still excited. We check-in to our rooms - basic but good enough. Off to the rental store to grab our boards and boots. Have home-cooked dinner in absolute silence. Awkward. Cousin turns off lights earlyish - I don't know what to do? Go to sleep? But I don't want to yet. Watch TV but there's nothing on...can't stay awake for the midnight game between Paraguay vs Spain

Saturday: Awake 0830hrs for 10am board lesson. Am the first to wake so get ready. Notice it is very sunny outside and blue skies above. Have raisin bread with jam for brekkie. By the time we get gear on, we realise we can't make the 10am class. We have 2hrs to burn. Ride the chairlift up and awesome feeling - wouldn't mind just riding it back and forth. Take in the view and take photos. Camwhore a bit. Whilst waiting for class, try one-footed glides. Slippery. 12pm finally comes round. Class is not exactly private. Glad I'm not the only one noob. I realise why does my upper and lower body feel so segmented and unco-ordinated? and why can't the Magic Carpet go a bit faster?. Once class finishes, head back to lodge for lunch. At about 3pm head back up to practice more. Prefer my heel side much more than toe side. Take more than my fair share of tumbles. Meet Jaz, a 14 y.o. girl from Traralgon who FOOSH and screamed out in pain so I came to help her. Had a look at her wrist and think it's either a fracture or sprain. Calm her down and settle her - she thanks me. Sun sets fairly early around 4:30pm so head back. Home-cooked dinner again - play the tasting test with Veron's potato & leek soup. I failed. Watched Ratatouille and Moonbreaker before the first half of the Netherlands vs Brazil match. Can barely keep awake.

Sunday: Alarm at 0800hrs goes off. Terribly tired. Sunny again outside but it's melting all that precious snow! Breakfast is English muffin with baked beans - nom! Decide we will not attend Lvl 2 class this AM as we really would have no hope if yet to master Lvl 1...decide to just practice. Hear my name called out and it's Jaz from y'day with her mum. She is now in a broad arm sling and her mum tells me she fractured her scaphoid! Says I am welcomed down at Traralgon if I happen to visit there...ask cousin to take a photo of Jaz and I - ha! My cousin's gf also goes down with a little injury - an old meniscal injury aggravated. I tell her to ice it so we make a blob of snow and plop it on HA! She can't FWB through her left side and I think McMurry's is +ve. ANYWAY, return gear at like lunchtime. Eat steak sandwich and it comes to about #20 with orange juice & side chips. Ugh! Leave at around 3.30ish and it takes FOREVER to get back to Melbourne. Sigh. Am aching all over the place and struggle to stay awake in the car. Finally in the city - eat at Won Ton House for dinner. Am just wanting to get home by now 'cos a bit over it. Finally home at 9.45pm and glad to be back :p
