Two nights ago, I attended my cousin's citizenship ceremony at the Hawthorn Town Hall. It brought back memories of 2005, when I finally became an
Australian.
FOB I know.... I sat at the back violently, texting away but I
did mouth the words of the affirmation and "I am Australian." It felt nice to be a part of it again. Sometimes I think people take citizenship for granted. They forget what the country can bring into their lives - the freedom, goodwill and spirit. They forget what their
role as a
citizen should be. Five years ago, I don't think I knew what it really meant, but the more the years pass by, the more we all know just how lucky we are to live in this country.
I hadn't seen this photo up until a few hours ago - I rummaged through it. Funny...

And please welcome our newest Australian citizen, who just got a job in the kitchen hall of GRAND HYATT! Congrats ^^
