It's like
Tiger Woods without the porn stars.
Like Ron without the Sue, and Sue without the Ron.
Like the rendang was not cool.
It's like Korean music with no
Rain,
Like Vanuatu without snorkelling,
And like Miffy being thin and white.
It's like Suwii with no TAZ,
Sarah with no RSL,
Li not driving a
people-mover,
And Catherine with
green peas.
It's like life with no friends,
A day without laughter,
A dinner without FOOD.
It's like DIPPING ROTI IN LAKSA,
And great minds not thinking alike.

Every Sunday, Sarah Wilson writes a column in
Sunday Life. Only just then did I peep at her bloggy blog blog and I think it's pretty cool :) So it is defi worth a read if you're bored or procrastinating. There are some nice things to take out of it.

Today woke up at 10.30am.
(Actually 9.30am thinking that I overslept, realised the alarm clock was not right 'cos of short-circuiting then when I checked my phone, went back to bed for more zZzZzz...). Lazily got up, hit the internet and fed Miffy. Drove to IELTS for work at 1300hrs. Was a fairly quick session - out at about 4pm but paid till 5 (Y).
Next showered and readied to enter my colleague's
36th BIRTHDAY PARTY - yes you read that right. Doncaster Rd right down took me less than 10 mins to get there so I was somewhat early (or on time). At first I didn't really want to get down 'cos I mean, looked like a whole bunch of footy blokes finishing their training - but I saw Maggie driving so I got out and waited for her to park. The night after that was pretty fun - I
did feel somewhat young, but I didn't feel completely out of place. The little IELTS crew huddled and mingled WITHIN ourselves - ha! One thing I learnt tonight was that it doesn't change this non-intermingling thing at parties, with age. People just like to stick to their own people that they are most comfortable with. :) Even when we were introduced around, it was "Hi" then talk-to-the-person-beside-you-that-you-were-talking-to-before-you-introduced-yourself-to-randoms. It was actually the first social meeting I've ever been to with work mates - and it was nice :) I think the IELTS job I have now is just more catching up with the people at work, rather than actually trying to make $$$, which is a bit different to what I had thought of 2 years back. They have such
different, complex lives at different
stages of life which just makes you reflect on your own and think how it could be different now or in years to come...
L to R: Belinda (big boss), ME, Carrie, Maggie, Sarah b'day girl, Witra, Jean, Gemma (getting married)Night was topped off by chauffeuring the Sarah Wong back home from workies (after pigging out and in-depth convo with waitress-nursing-student XD) Sleep tight :)

As the title suggests, halfway through
first clinic block. :) No matter how confident you are, when you're strolling towards that desk with your two supervisors staring you down at you having your marks right in front of them, you just start to feel a little
sick. That difference in status ... I can't wait to
overcome. I'm glad others feel the same though - when we sit in the student room at lunch and rant, rant, rant, laugh at our inabilities and feel you are not alone in this, it just makes you feel that much better.
Feedback itself was what I expected. It was direct, honest and upfront. It was also somewhat
encouraging. There are
EIGHT days to improve on things and make a point, so here's hoping. I'm so ready for Easter break please. Think the more of this work-related stress, the more I need dinner catch-ups like tonight :) [And more random bumpings into Daddy :P]

Yesterday, I farewelled Mummy Ng at the aeroport. I kinda miss her already - and she'll be gone for more than a month. Plus my dad decided he too, wanted to join her and will be away a week around Easter, THUS, the Ng household will be without parents for that one week! So now I've got that extra responsibility and it WILL seem like I'm living independently or something...*sigh*
Just not looking forward to coming home to an empty house and leaving early in the morning when it's dark XDOn the other hand, last night was
amazing!. Evermore concert brought back so many year 11+12 high school memories! It was pretty cool :) (And actually coincidentally
Light Surrounding You is playing right now...serious!) Just love being a part of the atmosphere, soaking it in and having a good time! Also managed to test out the new IXUS 200IS and I think it passed with flying colours :)

It's been a good week :) Or moreso ending on a good note :) Likes this (Y) Contributing to this is THE brand, spanking
NEW CANON IXUS 200IS in bronzey gold! My new baby [out of six possible] (or the Ng family's...). So allow me to camwhore just to fiddle around with it, ok? Shall test it out this Saturday?! EXCITE! Yay
Evermore - brings back memories of high school :P Will also be farewelling Mother Ng earlier in the day as she leaves for more than a month in M'sia/China! I'm just excited to go to the airport :D

Just came back from first day of clinics and nothing much to report as it was a whole day of orientation. Shall get stuck in it tomorrow - half excited and half dreading it. Two initial assessments at Austin outpatients then gotta get to Talbot for more patients. Interesting the first patient I'm seeing tomorrow shares the same
surname as me - I think they paired us up deliberately, what ya reckon? Am somewhat glad that it is a different supervisor to last year, as she made it hell for me quite simply. Got me fingers crossed for tomorrow 'cos it all starts now and I've got
one month to prove this to myself. Come on.

Two nights ago, I attended my cousin's citizenship ceremony at the Hawthorn Town Hall. It brought back memories of 2005, when I finally became an
Australian.
FOB I know.... I sat at the back violently, texting away but I
did mouth the words of the affirmation and "I am Australian." It felt nice to be a part of it again. Sometimes I think people take citizenship for granted. They forget what the country can bring into their lives - the freedom, goodwill and spirit. They forget what their
role as a
citizen should be. Five years ago, I don't think I knew what it really meant, but the more the years pass by, the more we all know just how lucky we are to live in this country.
I hadn't seen this photo up until a few hours ago - I rummaged through it. Funny...
And please welcome our newest Australian citizen, who just got a job in the kitchen hall of GRAND HYATT! Congrats ^^

So today I was walking away from the Med building and someone tugs at my arm so I look to my right and here is this Chinese fob with the Melb Uni diary opened up to the map page and her pointing where she wanted to get to and wondering where she was right now...so I told her that we were indeed right next to the Med building and that street right there is Grattan Street. She wanted to get to Lincoln Sq to go to Trinity College :p I said I was walking in that direction (to get to Lygon) so I would walk with her and tell her where to go. So following this I had to talk to her for about 2 or so minutes about stuff such as where I was from, what is physiotherapy, what am I doing after my course and where am I going. It was mildly entertaining. We reached Bouverie so told her to head that way and turn LEFT whilst I went straight ahead. So I hope she got there OK. I thought I was pretty nice though I forgot to ask her name.
