1 mLs of sputum

So here I am sitting in a not-so-dodgy internet cafe in Port Vila. Wow what can I say? Can someone pinch me 'cos I'm half not believing I'm actually here..but I am and I'm really loving it. Must admit the first day, which was only yesterday lol, was a bit of a shock. Arrived fairly on time - Virgin/Pacific Blue were AWESOME - love Kiwi Sam, the cabin crew manager dude and his lame but necessary jokes :) Touched down at about 1.15pm - by the time we got through customs all good we waited for our pick-up which of course, was not there yet LOL. Taxi man - lets call him red t-shirt guy - was pestering us all the way to get in the cab with him but charging 1,000VT - way too costly. So then I sought to call Joie and we had to visit Digicel first to set it up but then THAT failed too cos apparently both of our phones are locked! Crap - great start.

Managed to go to the service desk - use their phone for 100VT - after first calling the police station accidentally, I got through to Joie and in about 15-20mins she was there. SWEET. Lovely lovely person...she took us to our accomm and settled us in. Great accom for less than A$20 - what a bargain!

After resting for a bit, we walked along the waterfront - visited the market and wow that is the place to buy food alright! Got some stuff and also went to the supermarket. Dinner was at Roxy's - pretty nice and even better entertainment - we missed sunset (really early) but it was OK. Catching the shuttle was pretty fun - so close to the water which was amazingly clear even in nightlight :o

Today, went to craft market and stocked up on the jewellery. So I'm totally Ni-Vanuatu now ha ha try-hard XD Also today I met Ron - SERIOUSLY. He normally lives in Santo but is here in Vila for 3 weeks. Normally does a jet skiing business. Very nice man - that can be said for all of the people here - walking along the street ppl shout out - "ALO" - and they don't mean to be suggestive or anything, just genuinely NICE. Plus at the market, a 9y.o kid was serving us - SO freaking cute - she said she liked my hair (& Tara's)...took photos and huggles :D Her name was Stacy :) (Can't remember the other sister's name!!)

Right so signing off now. Hope the kayaking place isn't closed yet. Miss you all :D
